VENTURA, Iowa – The Waldorf University shooting sports team hosted Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) for a dual trap shoot on Friday, September 19, at the Ventura Gun Club. Despite a strong effort from the Warriors, NICC secured the team victory with a score of 464 to Waldorf's 430.

Waldorf's top five shooters for the event were:

• Jillian Kardoes – 93
• Fisher Nagel – 90
• Desirae Igou – 89
• Dylan Gotimer – 79
• Dominick Weaver – 79

NICC was led by a consistent showing across the board, with top scores coming from:

• Elizabeth Ward – 97
• Marshall Schiphoff – 96
• Alexis Elsbernd – 91
• Ty Kenan – 90
• Logan Frye – 90

While the final result wasn't in the Warriors' favor, Head Coach Dean Mueller remains focused on improvement. "Our team didn't shoot up to their potential, even though trap is probably our weakest event," the coach said. "We'll be putting in extra work at our next practice to continue building skill and consistency in this area."

The Warriors will return to action on October 4–5 at the Hastings Shoot Out, where they aim to build on their experience and deliver a strong performance across all events.
