What does the Professional Development Committee do?
The Professional Development Committee meets once a month to help create, implement, evaluate, and improve staff/ faculty professional development opportunities.
Each member on the committee brings their own unique experience to the group.
The staff representative position is an elected position that attends meetings with the President’s Council and acts as the liaison for all staff and faculty members at the University.
What types of courses are available?
-
LINKEDIN LEARNING COURSES
Waldorf University provides its staff with free access to the plethora of professional development courses on LinkedIn Learning. Some courses are recommended by the University, however, they are much longer than most Waldorf-generated courses. For access, please contact the Waldorf Communications Department.
-
WALDORF SPECIFIC COURSES
The Professional Development Committee has listened to the staff/faculty body and has created and curated short 1 hour or so courses on specific topics. These are free and certificates can be saved in your employee file for future performance reviews.
-
HYBRID LEARNING COURSES
Some people like learning from people in real-time. As such, the Professional Development Committee offers some opportunities for staff/faculty to present in person. Theses sessions are then followed up with a supplemental online course component.
What other useful opportunities are there?
-
FREE CE CERTIFICATES BY STATE (K-12 ONLY)
Educators in particular may find it beneficial to view this resource. They can find prerecorded or live professional development opportunities in their state. These free certificates will autogenerate and can be used in school districts in most cases. You will need to sign up for a free account though.
-
ALISON LMS (IN-DEPTH DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS)
There are more than 5,500 different online pre- made courses ready to go. There are many preset and waldorf-prepared learning pathways for you to choose from. These courses are free and a bit longer than Waldorf PD material, but the certificates are not free! These are CPD certified.
